Are we perfect beings? Designed?

What is the perfect human body tempurature?...98.6...
May not be perfect but we strive for it.
Whether in the Sahara or in Antartica...
...but let's just say this is what it happens to be.
...really it could be anything and given evolution it could end up as anything.

What is the perfect human eyesight?...20/20
May not be perfect but we have operations and wear corrective lenses/glasses to get as close to it.
...seems to serve us well...
...imagine seeing telescopically or microscopically...
...try to drive down the road seeing every single particle that is around you or being able to see 2 miles down the road but unable to see 2 inches in front of you.
...again it seems to serve us well.
...but let's just say this is what it happens to be.
...really it could be anything-giving the evolutionary hypothesis.

What is the perfect hearing range for humans?
...20 Hz (cycles per second) to 20 kHz (20,000 Hz), although there is considerable variation between individuals.
...seems to serve us well...
...imagine...you if you could hear over a half-mile away (YOU MIGHT not ever know what argument you were a part of or hear dozens or thousands of televisions at the same time.)
...or
...you could hear your blood flow or every sound or no sound...
...but again...without a designer it could be or may be anything one day...

What about smelling?
...what if you could not smell a rotten egg or old milk...
...or better yet...what if you could smell your heart or even every smell in your neighborhood?
...what we have seems to serve us well...but that could be coincidental and what we are use to.
...if we have no designer, and there is no benchmark for our sense of smell then evolutionary processes could alter it one day to something far better or worse...
...who can say.

heart rate?
...I know doctors would like it to be at a "best" level...but...
...sure...let's say that could and one day will be different.

taste?
...ability to taste and enjoy the food created or perhaps again just another coincidence?
...HERE'S THE POINT...
...I will give you your pre-determined conclusion that all of these items have just happened through random processes and neither ours eyes, ears, nose, taste, nor organs, nor organ functions were designed by God or any Intelligent Designer.
...If these things are on a never ending, never changing path with no direction, or organization...
...then I must tell you that YOUR (BRAIN) WHICH IS CONNECTED TO EACH OF THESE...cannot be trusted with any of these functions.
...If your BRAIN is not designed then it has no point of perfection or trustworthness to anyone.
...In other words...It is impossible for you to believe that you are able to reason, think, discuss, or even scientifically observe anything with any degree of truth.
...It's like taking a broken microscope or telescope and looking at the cracks in the lense and thinking that what you are looking at is anything but cracks in the lense.
...unless someone fixes it or designs a new one.
...I would propose that if you do believe in the God of the Bible then "knowing" you are created gives you the trust in what you think, see, feel, smell, taste, and touch, FAR MORE than if you have randomly found yourself in this moment of evolutionary time.
...May God Bless you and open your eyes to whom He is.
...Happy "New" 2010 Year!

...I Think...Therefore...............{think about it.}

BULL'S EYE OF CHRISTMAS

It's not just about the manger
Where the baby lay
It's not all about the angels
Who sang for him that day

It's not just about the shepherds
Or the bright and shining star
It's not all about the wisemen
Who travelled from afar

Chorus:
It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again

It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and I could have real life someday

It's about the cross

Verse 2:

It's not just about the presents
Underneath the tree
It's not all about the feeling
That the season brings to me

It's not just about coming home
To be with those you love
It's not all about the beauty
In the snow I'm dreaming of

The beginning of the story is wonderful and great
But it's the ending that can save you and that's why we celebrate

It's about the cross
It's about my sin
It's about how Jesus came to be born once
So that we could be born again

It's about God's love
Nailed to a tree
It's about every drop of blood that flowed from Him when it should have been me

It's about the stone
That was rolled away
So that you and have real life someday
So that you and I could have real life someday

It's about the cross
It's about the cross

War of the Words...Rosebud

While the film version of Wells's novel is highly regarded by science-fiction and cinema buffs and was successful upon its release, the impact it had on mass consciousness cannot be compared to the effect of the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds on the day before October 31st in 1938.
At that time, CBS's "Mercury Theatre" presented Orson Welles and a talented cast simulating a live news broadcast of an invasion of Earth by mechanized Martian war machines.
Because the account of unstoppable alien beings landing in the New Jersey farmlands was depicted so realistically—and because many listeners tuned in after the Mercury Theatre production was already in progress—the greater part of the nation was in panic over the invaders from Mars.

CITIZEN KANE's tale begins when wealthy media magnate Charles Foster Kane (Orson Welles) dies, and he utters the enigmatic word "Rosebud".
At the end of the film, the camera pans over workers burning some of Kane's many possessions.

One throws an old sled, with the word "Rosebud" painted on it, into the fire, the same sled that Kane was riding as a child the day his mother sent him away.
So what would happen if you missed the first 5 minutes?

Good movie...BUT IT WOULD NOT MAKE SENSE.

So why is the beginning so important?
Have you ever heard that Jesus Christ Loves You and He Died for Your Sins?
So had I...
I had heard about the death burial and resurrection of Jesus.
BUT I had no idea that I had missed the 1st 5 minutes and walked into the story after God had already clarified several things.
#1. His Law...The Ten Commandments had shown ME guilty before God and deserving of His Righteous punishment.
RU?
#2. It is not His Will that I am punished for my transgessions.
#3. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for the Law I had trespassed.
#4. Through Repentance of my sins and Faith in Jesus Christ I can partake in His Forgiveness and be Born Again.

What If...I'm Pretending?

What if the definition of pretending is to deceive or give a false appearance? What if pretending can fool men, but it cannot fool God? What if it's true that we are known by our fruits? What if Jesus was right in saying that not everyone who calls Him their Lord will enter heaven? (Matt 7:21) What if Satan wants me to believe I can sin and get away with it? What if God is not only a God of love and forgiveness, but also a God of justice and wrath? What if it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God? (Heb 10:31) What if my love for the things of this world reveals that I do not belong to Christ? (1 Jn 2:15)

What if I really should examine myself to see if I am truly in the faith? What if I have not honestly been broken over my sins against God and completely surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ? What if I have broken God's commandments thousands of times without even caring that it spits in the face of God? What if God holds me accountable for every lie, every lustful thought, and every time I felt hatred toward a person? What if God even considers my lust as adultery and my hatred as murder? What if I'm actually ignoring the God who gives me my every breath? What if I don't see myself as a despicable, wicked person who deserves nothing but eternity in hell? What if God does not desire for me to go to hell, but He will not force me to stop living my self-centered life? (Mark 8:34-38) What if even though I have been so selfish in my self-centered life, Jesus still desires me as He lovingly took the wrath of God upon Himself on the cross for me? What if this conviction on my heart is begging me to genuinely repent and to surrender my life and desires to Jesus Christ alone?

What if God had me read this for a reason? What if I'm pretending ...?

R U CALLED?...{1st: You've Gotta Be Connected}

I should like to remind you that the honour does not belong to ministers only; they may take their full share of it, but it belongs to every one of you who have devoted yourselves to Christ: such honour have all the saints.

Every man here, every woman here, every child here, whose heart is right with God, may be a soul-winner.

There is no man placed by God's providence where he cannot do some good.

There is not a glowworm under a hedge but gives a needed light; and there is not a labouring man, a suffering woman, a servant-girl, a chimney-sweeper, or a crossing-sweeper, but has some opportunities for serving God; and what I have said of soul-winners, belongs not to the learned doctor of divinity, or to the eloquent preacher alone, but to you all who are in Christ Jesus.

You can each of you, if grace enables you, be thus wise, and win the happiness of turning souls to Christ through the Holy Spirit.

John Harper's Sacrifice

John Harper was born to a pair of solid Christian parents on May 29th, 1872.

It was on the last Sunday of March 1886, when he was thirteen years old that he received Jesus as the Lord of his life.

He never knew what it was to "sow his wild oats."

He began to preach about four years later at the ripe old age of 17 years old by going down to the streets of his village and pouring out his soul in earnest entreaty for men to be reconciled to God.

As John Harper's life unfolded, one thing was apparent...he was consumed by the word of God. When asked by various ministers what his doctrine consisted of, he was known to reply "The Word of God!"

After five or six years of toiling on street corners preaching the gospel and working in the mill during the day, Harper was taken in by Rev. E. A. Carter of Baptist Pioneer Mission in London, England.

This set Harper free to devote his whole time of energy to the work so dear to his heart.

Soon, John Harper started his own church in September of 1896. (Now known as the Harper Memorial Church.)

This church which John Harper had started with just 25 members, had grown to over 500 members when he left 13 years later.

During this time he had gotten married, but was shortly thereafter widowed.

However brief the marriage, God did bless John Harper with a beautiful little girl named Nana.

Ironically, John Harper almost drowned several times during his life.
When he was two and a half years of age, he almost drowned when he fell into a well but was resuscitated by his mother.
At the age of twenty-six, he was swept out to sea by a reverse current and barely survived, and at thirty-two he faced death on a leaking ship in the Mediterranean.
Perhaps, God used these experiences to prepare this servant for what he faced next...

It was the night of April 14, 1912. The RMS Titanic sailed swiftly on the bitterly cold ocean waters heading unknowingly into the pages of history.

On board this luxurious ocean liner were many rich and famous people.
At the time of the ship's launch, it was the world's largest man-made moveable object.
At 11:40 p.m. on that fateful night, an iceberg scraped the ship's starboard side, showering the decks with ice and ripping open six watertight compartments.
The sea poured in.

On board the ship that night was John Harper and his much-beloved six-year-old daughter Nana.
According to documented reports, as soon as it was apparent that the ship was going to sink, John Harper immediately took his daughter to a lifeboat.
It is reasonable to assume that this widowed preacher could have easily gotten on board this boat to safety; however, it never seems to have crossed his mind.
He bent down and kissed his precious little girl; looking into her eyes he told her that she would see him again someday.

The flares going off in the dark sky above reflected the tears on his face as he turned and headed towards the crowd of desperate humanity on the sinking ocean liner.
As the rear of the huge ship began to lurch upwards, it was reported that Harper was seen making his way up the deck yelling, "Women, children and unsaved into the lifeboats!"
It was only minutes later that the Titanic began to rumble deep within.
Most people thought it was an explosion; actually the gargantuan ship was literally breaking in half.
At this point, many people jumped off the decks and into the icy, dark waters below.

John Harper was one of these people.
That night 1528 people went into the frigid waters.

John Harper was seen swimming frantically to people in the water leading them to Jesus before the hypothermia became fatal.
Mr. Harper swam up to one young man who had climbed up on a piece of debris. Rev. Harper asked him between breaths, "Are you saved?" The young man replied that he was not.
Harper then tried to lead him to Christ only to have the young man who was near shock, reply no.
John Harper then took off his life jacket and threw it to the man and said, "Here then, you need this more than I do..." and swam away to other people.
A few minutes later Harper swam back to the young man and succeeded in leading him to salvation.

Of the 1528 people that went into the water that night, six were rescued by the lifeboats.
One of them was this young man on the debris.

Four years later, at a survivors meeting, this young man stood up and in tears recounted how that after John Harper had led him to Christ.

Mr. Harper had tried to swim back to help other people, yet because of the intense cold, had grown too weak to swim.

His last words before going under in the frigid waters were, "Believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.

" Does Hollywood remember this man?
No.
Oh well, no matter.

This servant of God did what he had to do.

While other people were trying to buy their way onto the lifeboats and selfishly trying to save their own lives, John Harper gave up his life so that others could be saved.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends..."

John Harper was truly the hero of the Titanic!

WHERE'S WALDO? **WARNING** : speed trap ahead!

If you have ever been to Florida, then you have been told to watch it around certain areas.
Some are more infamous than others.
Most notable is a city north of Gainesville and south of Lake City called Waldo.
It is hard to miss.
Yes, you can drive too fast and pass right by without noticing, but rarely will this be possible.
For you see Waldo is a speed trap……Yet, not your ordinary speed trap…WHY?

Because several miles, before you reach Waldo, there is a huge billboard that clearly states:

Warning: Waldo SPEED TRAP.

If this weren’t enough, just around the city limits there are white speed limit signs superimposed on larger bright yellow signs that signify the rapid reduction in speed allowed. From 65 to 55 to 45 to 35…within several hundred yards of each other.

SCENARIO #1: You are doing 65mph still, or 49, or even 37 miles per hour while in this town, and you are pulled over and the police officer gives you a ticket.

They say, “You are speeding, here’s your ticket, pay your fine”. Do you have anything that you can say in your defense? More than likely NO.

O.K. let’s try something

SCENARIO #2: Let’s take down all of the signs from the billboard to the 55mph, 45mph, and the 35mph.
NO SIGNS!…Now you are driving the same way. So when the police officer pulls you over and says “You are speeding, here’s your ticket, pay your fine”.

What!!!? Wouldn’t that make you outraged that they could give you a ticket, yet you never knew what Waldo’s legal speed limit was?
What’s the point?

Let me ask you, have you ever had anyone say to you, “You’re a sinner, you need to accept Jesus, or you are going to hell!”? Doesn’t that sound judgmental? I mean, who are they to say who goes to hell and who doesn’t?
Exactly the point.
Where are the SIGNS?
Have you ever heard of the Ten Commandments? The Bible says that God wrote them with His Own Finger. That is how you can know if you broke His law…not just what a person thinks.
Shall we? PLEASE No Speeding through this section.

There will be a test.
Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything in your life? Have you ever lusted after someone? Premarital sex? Have you ever used God’s name as a curse word? Have you ever created a god to suit yourself? (I believe…) Have you dishonored/disobeyed your parents at anytime in your life? Have you always set aside 1 day a week to honor God?

If you answered yes to all or any of these questions…you have violated God’s laws.

On Judgment Day…when you stand before God. If God judges you based on the 10 Commandments would you be innocent or guilty? If you are honest with yourself, you know you’d be guilty and go to hell.
So what can you say for yourself?…Nothing.
Sin is transgression of the law.

But God is rich in Mercy in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Repent (turn away from sin), trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation…

DRIVE SAFELY: FOR DIRECTIONS: read the Bible and obey what you read.

God will sustain you and keep you in this life and the one to come.

Don't Blame Atheists {We have a job to do...so do it.}

In this illustration of the Titanic disaster, Capt. Smith refuses help from passengers in a lifeboat.

Athiests:
Why drown when help is offered?

Do you not know you are drowning?

Do you not care?

Christians:
Do you see, do you see, all the people sinking down,
Don't you care, don't you care, are you gonna let them drown,
How can you be so numb, not to care if they come,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done.

Oh Bless me Lord, bless me Lord, you know it's all I ever hear,
No one aches, no one hurts, no one even sheds one tear,
But He cries, He weeps, He bleeds, and He cares for your needs,
And you just lay back and keep soaking it in, oh, can't you see it's such sin?

Cause He brings people to your door,
And you turn them away, as you smile and say,
God bless you, be at peace, and all Heaven just weeps,
Cause Jesus came to your door, you've left Him out on the streets.

Open up, open up, and give yourself away,
You've seen the need, you hear the cry, so how can you delay,
God's calling and you're the one, but like Jonah you run,
He's told you to speak, but you keep holding it in,
Oh, can't you see it's such sin?

The world is sleeping in the dark,
That the church can't fight, cause it's asleep in the light,
How can you be so dead, when you've been so well fed,
Jesus rose from the grave, and you, you can't even get out of bed,
Oh, Jesus rose from the dead, come on, get out of your bed.

How can you be so numb, not to care if they come,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done,
You close your eyes and pretend the job's done,
Don't close your eyes, don't pretend the job's done.
Come away, come away, come away with Me, My love,
Come away, from this mess, come away with Me, My love.

Abortion

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:40
